i want to add music to it, but how do u get sounds that are originally in the video out of the video?

if you are using mac ibook then you could edit the video using imovie but if you are not using the mac then i gess you cud do that thru windows media player!

Good editing can happen on any platform or program (don't believe the Mac hype - it was true 10 years ago) Adobe Premiere Pro works quite well, but probably too expensive for your needs. Avid DV Xpress is great, but has a little bit of a learning curve. Windows Movie Maker will probably accomplish what you want, but I find the workflow tedious and inefficient.
