Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Start & Run a Home Daycare by Catherine M. Pruissen

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Contact a commerical real estate agent. But you need to get a budget for how much rent you want to pay. Daycare place needs to be easy to get in and out. But not at busy location. Also, some house can be used as day care center. Good luck!

I have noticed that several Day Care Centers have worked very well when located near a court house or such facility. This way people have the option of dropping their children off right before and right after work. Best of luck!!!!

After you have a business plan, you should scout your location near a residential zone or light commericial zone. You can also get help from your local small business bureau. They can help you with zoneing issues too.

That is a very interesting question. You might try www.wikipedia.com to search for the answer, if you can't find it here.
