Canada is NOT a communist country. We may take some money but at least we're putting it towards a health care system. A health care system, might I add where I don't run up hospital bills if I hurt myself. Free healthcare has been a great institution since the 1800's. You're just harping because you wish it was as good as ours. We accept it because it works for us. I would rather spend my money in the health care system then to a war for which there is no purpose!

Porcel ... I have to wonder whether you're kidding. The answer is "no." Canada is not a Communist country, thank goodness.

I'd say not far off. If you ask a lefty, he'll say no. To a lefty, Cuba isn't communist, it is a benevelant socialist state. They do not recognise it for what it is.

Canada has a state that by force, takes money from each person and uses it to provide healthcare. To enforce their own system, the government has imposed restrictions on its own citizens and their ability to buy their own. Most important is that the people accept it.

That may not be textbook communism, but when the people swallow the next government takeover of an industry, and the next...they will be communist. They'll have to be because what's left of the free market won't be able to function.

I can't imagine why you would think so. Canada is and has been a democracy. They are part of the British Commonwealth. See the link below for a complete description.

No, it is a capitalist market.

Yes, more government programs than the USA but not nearly socialist like Sweden or communist like Cuba.
