I FIGURED IT WAS AN ITEM AND SINCE YOU CAN KEEP EXTRA ITEMS SUCH AS HAND HELD ITEMS OFF IT THE SIDE, I GUESS KIND OF IN YOUR BACKPACK, THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUT THESE "USUABLE ONLY ONCE" CARDS OUT THE SAME WAY. THEY DO NOT SAY USE FROM YOUR HAND, OR ANYTHING ALONG THOSE LINES. SO IF ANYONE CAN ANSWER MY ?, PLEASE THIS WOULD SAVE ME FROM A LOT OF FIGHTING!

Who owns the game? The directions say that disagreements should be settled with loud arguments with the owner having the last say. My friends and i decided that it is allowed to put anything besides race, class, monster, and curse cards onto the side (if you got one of the other versions, then anything equip-able can be put to the side)

The catch is this; a thief can steal any equipped item or item in your side pile. So if you got the staff of napalm or something really awesome like that, you don't want to have it on the side if there is a thief playing, because you have a chance of losing it.

Munchkin is an awesome game because it encourages "friendly fighting", so i'm not sure how civilized you want to make the game, as long as you can be friends afterwards :)
