She says it will give us 40 days to prove that our relationship is not just sexually based. I think she should know that I love her more than anything and that we don't need to abstain from sex for 40 days to test our love. I find it a bit odd. I am not very keen on this idea. Anybody think this is a good idea?

No, i don't think it is a good idea, but i went through the same thing, only not for Lent. Mine just said that we should abstain period.......kind of awkward i thought, too.......
