Feminists are women and men who believe in choice for all women and men. They are not men hating bitches, they do not suffer from penis envy. They are not all lesbians . They are not irreligious, some of the feminists I've met are more spiritual than many supposedly religious people I've met.

Feminists can be any woman, young , middle aged, older.

They don't act that much differently from most women, feminists can be grammas, aunties, moms, daughters, sisters and friends.Feminists fight for equal pay, equal acccess, rights for those born and unborn, contrary to what some right wing religious and politically conservative people will tell you.

They believe everyone has a choice and that her/his choices are sacred to the individual and shouldn't be judged by other people. They are not usually the Stepford type wives who are afraid to assert themselves.

Who are feminists, well the obvious ones are the late Betty Freidan, former Cosmo editor Gloria Steinham, Lilly Tomlin, Billie Jean King,Candace Bergen, Jane Fonda, Kathryn Hepburn , Pink I suspect is a feminist , probably Christina Agulara, Gwen Stefani,Bea Arthur 's character Maude on Maude the tv show.

However you can find feminists just about everywhere, look for dynamic women who are advocating for younger women, disabled women, older women, women of many races. I have a feeling Maya Angelou may not characterize herself as a feminist, but her life certainly embraces feminist principles. As does Germaine Greer's.

My gramma was a suffragette, another word for feminists and so were my mum and her sisters as am I.
And I'm proud to be one!

I'm male. In my view a feminist used to be a women who stood up for womens right. She would fight for equality and fairness. That was the old definition. Today a feminist is more associated with a women who hate men and blame man for everything. I think that when you put down other people because at some point in time they put you down then you become the same as those people. In other words you are no better than they are. So, feminist have gone from being a good thing to being an annoyance to everybody. I mean, is perfectly fine to stand up for your rihts but these people become militant about it to the point where they loose their focus and become hatefull towards men and or women who don't agree with them. First word out of their mouth is balme the men. Look for a way to blame them. When it should be lets define the problem, the cause and then lets put our heads together to find a solution.

Feminism is 1. Belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. 2. The movement organized around this belief.

I am a Womens Studies Minor and a Feminist

Feminism looks at all aspects of life. We look at race, ethnicity, women AND men, sexuality, wealth, culture, etc...

Feminist dont really "act" a certain way. We do not Burn our Bras! or make our husbands our slaves. We act in a human way, that is, we treat everyone with respect and equality and we fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Most people think we ALL dont value family and have shaved heads and lesbian partners.

If you believe in equality, respect and enjoy having control over your decisions and long to make the world a better place then you are well on your way to being, if not already are, a feminist!

You'll get all sorts of answers about dictionary definitions and how militant feminists act. If you want to listen to me, here are the facts:

Definition:

Feminism: The doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.

Definition:

Chauvinism: Zealous and aggressive patriotism or blind enthusiasm for military glory.

Now, I'm sure you've heard the word chauvinist tossed around to mean a misogynist or sexist, even though that IS NOT WHAT THE WORD MEANS. By the same token, feminist is tossed around so that it acquires a meaning often different from its dictionary definition.

The problem with calling oneself a feminist is that you are, in doing so, associating yourself with radical feminism and the likes of many misandric bitches. It helps a LOT to be more specific. Since you're questioning the issue of feminism, check this site out:

You would probably identify strongly with the idea of being an "individualist feminist."

Hope that answers your question!

A feminist is a scorned female. They are unable to get male attention or husbands. It's three leaders were kind of ugly fat morose unattrative ladies.

They looked more like they needed leashes instead of necklaces.

The strang exception was Gloria Stun-men! I, however, have never seen if she had a nice *ss or not. It could of been fat or weird looking, some women have weird looking butts.

I don't know what is a feminist but I know who is. Simone De Bouvoir, that genius who told women some painful truths even before the notion of feminism. And did we women listened?
No, that is why some of us are in such a mess.

There is no such example: it would be the same as for me to supply you with an example for 'how' a Anglican acts, or a sous chef. Try the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (online).
