I am 17 and I met a guy for the first time ever who I like that actually likes me too. We met at a party over Christmas break and hit it off right away. Since then, we have gone out every few weekends. The really weird thing is today my brother, a freshman in college, came home-and this guy was with him! He is my brother's best friend apparently and didnt know i was his sister. anyway my brother doesnt know about it yet (he knows he has a girlfriend with my name but doesnt know its me!) and neither do my parents (im not allowed to date so i had to lie to go out with him) anyway he is at my house now and its the weirdest thing ever. WHat should i do????

I'm confused. You've gone out several times, but you never met or heard him mention his "best friend" (your brother), and he never made the connection between your name and your brother's? That seems hard to believe.

I would talk to your brother. I'm sure you have some info on him that your parents don't, so you're covered in terms of him ratting you out to them. And he knows this guy, probably better than you do at this point. He may give you a hard time about certain things, being a brother and all, but he won't want someone to be hurting or mistreating you, so you will be the one he considers in a situation between you and his friend. Plus, if you're really dating this guy and your brother is his best friend, your brother will be finding out pretty soon anyway, right?

Take advantage of the opportunity you have to get your brother's insight on this situation. You don't want to wait until it gets even weirder for both you and the guy, or have it work out that this convinces the guy he shouldn't see you anymore.

With any luck, your brother will tell you that he's a good friend and a cool guy, and he's been mentioning a girl he's been seeing that he really likes (you!) Then maybe you all can hang out, and your parents won't even care because you're in a group. Eventually, your brother can be on your side when you have to tell them you've been seeing someone (which will undoubtedly happen), and he can have your back explaining that it's the friend they've already gotten to know and like.
