A little lubrication helps to stop tearing of your foreskin if you have one and it also helps to increase sensation. If you have rough skin on your hands it would be a little bit like jacking off using sandpaper. Lets face it if you are not in the position to get the real thing when you need relief your hand becomes your best friend. Enjoy yourself.

A lot of circumcised guys use lube because it's more comfortable or feels better. Some circumcised guys actually can't masturbate very well without it. It's different for an uncircumcised guy, the foreskin allows easy and comfortable masturbation without lube. Some uncircumcised guys use a little lube anyway because it can make it feel better. So an uncircumcised guy never "needs" lube, but a circumcised guy might.

Strictly a matter of personal preference, that's all.

It's not supposed to feel like "the real thing," that's not the point.

Some like it "dry" and some like it "wet." Some like it both ways.

I didn't "discover" lube till I was in my 30's, but after that it became more of a preference.

There are many on the market to choose from. You can get Astroglide from most any drug store. For partner sex, we prefer ForPlay by Trimensa Labs. It's got plenty of lubricity, but its a gel, so it's not runny.

Intact and restored men don't need, and seldom use, artificial lubrication, as the intact penis was designed to be both self-lubricating and to conserve vaginal moisture during intercourse.

Artificial lubricants, which are sticky, messy and expensive, were invented for circumcised men as a means of facilitating both masturbation and vaginal sex. Without their use by circumcised men, intercourse can become a dry, chafing, unpleasant experience, especially for the woman.

I've tried it both ways and I can say for me, honestly, it feels the same. My foreskin is already moist inside (being practically the same material as your eyelids), so adding more lubricant overdoes it for me, just being too messy and more clean up.

I am cut so I use it for "the real thing" but when masturbating, I use lube for a different kind of speacial feeling.

if you use lotion to masturbate then your penis will become moist soon or later and then you will never have to use lotion or lubes again...try it and if you want keep on using lotion

the best part is that lotion is in everyones house and you dont have to buy lubes so enjoy the exotic sensation of jacking off

Some guys prefer stroking dry, some prefer a lube. It's a personal choice.
