my friends say that im prepy. i do love to shop but my fav store is hot topic. i love AFI, linkon park, my chemical romance ang a lot of other punk bands. and i do love cloths but wouldnt dare be a fashion designer. should i care?

Classifications make the world boring. Who says you have to be prep or goth? Wear what you like from whatever store carries what you like. You can wear a MCR shirt from Hot Topic and jeans from American Eagle. You don't have to pick a stereotype. Wear what you like and let people call you whatever they want. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with what you wear and who you are. Be yourself!!

Simply put, you shouldn't pigeonhole yourself into any one category. You shouldn't care whether the stuff you're into doesn't "match up" with a persona you're trying to present to people.
Do what you do, like what you like, wear what you wear and if people don't like it, tell 'em to screw.

Well you sound really goth, maybe the clothes you pick look kinda preppy? And people seem to respect you more if you're preppy. Personally I go for preppy.

Nope. Be yourself, Don't worry about what category you are supposedly in. In fact, you should try whatever you can to make sure you are NOT thrown into a "category" that you may or may not even belong to. No one should be stereotyped. They should just be who they are.

well i guess b\c of stereotypes. just b\c u love to shop doesnt meen ur a prep. i guess what matters is what ur shopping FOR. maybe they're judging you based on what you wear. i wouldnt pay attention to them, as long as you know who you are, leave them in the dust...

no you shouldn't. though the prep world is more open than the goth world. you are limited to what you do and use if your goth. Preppy is cool, forget what your friends say, its jealousy talking cause they now they cant rock that same style.

haha, i'm exactly the same way. i like shopping at A&F and areo, but i like the heavy metal bands that goths like. i used to be sort of goth, but i don't dress like it anymore.
i've learned that you shouldn't have to be part of a social group. i have friends who are goth, black, and preppy, etc, and they don't care! be who you want to be!
