Try gel candles. They sell easy kits at Michael's and other craft stores and you can put wax embeds (trinkets) in them to make them personal to her favorites.

I think the scrapbook idea is FANTASTIC! I'd love to get that, and I am a mom. My husband gave me a dvd full of photos set to music and I just loved that. It was very special. Another idea is to write her a letter letting her know what kind of impact she's had on your life. Maybe tell her 5 things that make her special and why. For example, I would tell my mom that I love how gracious she is. No matter how many times I brought a friend home unexpectedly for dinner or a friend ran away from home and came to stay with us, she opened the door with sweetness and welcomed them in. I love that about her. You could think of what makes your mom special to you, and write it down. If you can, read it out loud to her. (I'm sure you can read, but sometimes it's hard to read out loud your thoughts without crying) I guarantee she'll treasure it for life. I think it is wonderful and sweet that you want to do something special for you mom. She's a very blessed lady to have such a loving child.

Actually that's a great idea. Anything you make is going to mean more. I did something for my Mom & Dad's 50th Anniversary that was a slide show to music of their last 50 yrs together. If you want to buy something interesting though there are talking frames which are great. Good luck.
