I'm not sure it's even a gas leak, I just feel really dizzy, and when I open the basement it smells like gasoline. It doesn't smell like rotten eggs or anything, but just it smells like gasoline. How do I make sure, when my mom doesn't think that it's real. What do i do, and how do I make sure it's real??? Help! PLEASE!!!

I would get out of the home and call the local fire department.Gasoline could have gotten into the sewer system. But when ever you smell something that could be hazardous or deadly do not wait to check it out.Get out, then call ,as anything could ignite it.Do Not Take A Chance.

If you think there is a gas leak, contact the gas company. They have the equipment to determine if there is a leak. If they find one, they will shut off the gas and you (your mom) will have to hire a pro to find and eliminate the leak. Carbon Monoxide is a dangerous gas, as it has no odor and can kill within 15 minutes with a concentration of less than 100 parts-per-million. It is unlikely you have a gas leak AND CO leak, however your gas company should have a CO detector they can bring. 7 PPM is an acceptable level of CO in the atmosphere; most homes have less than 3PPM. If you feel there is a hazard, have it checked out.

Everyone needs to leave the house. Then, call the fire department and report that you smell a gasoline smell in your basement and that you feel dizzy.

They'll come and investigate.

Tell mom "better safe than sorry."

Is there a man anywhere around you could get to come in and check it out? Does there exist a reason for your basement to smell of gasoline? How would it have gotten there all by itself? Do you have a garage where you park your car in the basement? It's probably coming from your car if you do. If not, have someone come in and check the basement for you or check it yourself if you can. There is probably a simple explanation for this.

mr.mr. is 1000000% on... get the hell out and call the fire department. They will thank you for calling them a) before the house blows up and many more people get hurt or b) before you all get overcome with fumes, they get called and have to carry your dead bodies out of the house... etc... etc... etc...
That's why they're there.. call them NOW!!!!
