I tried to start my 4Runner today and it won't start. Are there any car people out there that can help me out?

It doesn't turn over. I have power (lights turn on, interior power etc.), but when I turn the key, it knocks. It's different from a clicking sound. What could the problem be? It has been really cold here for the last 2 weeks and the car has not been started in that time. Gas? Battery? Starter? Alternator? Any help would be appreciated.

Turns out it was my battery. I initially tried to jump it but had some pretty crappy jumpers. After using some heavy duty one's, it started after a while. Looks like the battery's going, so I'll need to replace it. Glad it was that and not my starter.

Sounds like your battery hasn't enough power to kick your starter!
Have you tried jump starting it?
Cold weather is very bad for batteries!
