I just got Final Fantasy 8. I've finished 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 before, and this one is looking just as cool.

But about the GF system... can you skip those ultra-long sequences of the GF's attack? I thought there was an option that would only show the entire sequence the first few times it was used, then after that it would show a short version, but I can't find it here....

Nope, sorry in Final Fantasy 8 you have to sit through the whole sequence...sorta.

First buy the boost ability for your summon. Almost all the summons have it. Really cheap, only ten AP.

When summoning you see a little button in the lower right corner, if you press square as fast as you can when there isn't an X there your summon will do more damage when it attacks. If you press square when the red x is there you will lose all the build-up. The sequence of go-not-go is the same every time you summon that particular summon.

The number goes from 75 (the start) to 250 (the max) and represents the percentage of damage the summon will do.

The bonus damage can be worth it so give it a try! Use a turbo controller and you can get 250 every time!
