There are three ways.

1. in the webbing between the thumb and the right hand there is the hegu vital point, Squeeze the webing with your other thumb and indez finger,

2 There is an artery runs down the outside of the thumb. Place an ice cube between the two joints, This will cool the blood flowing in that artery.Cool blood will cause the blood vessels to shrink, and relieve the pressure.

3. overload on cafeine (about as much cafeine in three cups of coffee. The cafeine also causes the blood vessels to shrink and relieves the pain.

Minerva recommended peppermind in the temples. Make sure it is a fragrance oil if you use it. Essential oil of peppermint can burn the skin.

You could take medication, but your headaches will soon return more frequent than ever. Medications are pure crutches. If you really want to get rid of them for good you need to change your life style. Stay away from caffeine and sugar for a while. Exercise regularly, at least take a 30 minute brisk walk every day. You may also be lacking some vital nutrients like fresh raw fruits & veggies, or foods high in fiber, also food rich with omega 3&6 fatty acids. Get to know your body and the effects of your everyday food intake and you should be able to improve your quality of life dramatically.

Muscles get knots called trigger points. These make the muscles tight causing them to press on nerves and other thing.
Pain can be referred from places other than the head.
#1 The first thing is to take a couple swigs of molasses or eat a couple of bananas. They contain magnisium and potassium both of which muscles need.
#2 WATER she should be drinking 1/2 gallon minimum. The head of neurology at UCDavis likens a body running low on water to a car running low on oil (the engine can seize).
Get a good (deep tissue) massage (to loosen the trigger points) on the back, shoulders and neck. Make sure to press up at the base of the skull where it meets the spine.
You rub or lightly scratch everywhere on your head. You will hit spots that are tender these are trigger points. The idea is to rub across them 6-12 times per session up to six times per day until they go away.
For more information on trigger points read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

I agree with the pressure point between thumb and forefinger. Find it by pressing in that area until you find a spot that is more sensitive than others.
You can also push both thumbs into the back of your neck where the neck meets the skull. There are pressure points there also that help relieve neck tension and headaches associated with it.

it depends what causes your headache. some headaches can be helped by the pressure point between your thumb and forefinger. peppermint on your temples is also a good tip. these are really for simple headaches that dont seem to have any particular cause.

most of my headaches are tension headaches, that are caused by tension in my back, neck and shoulders. whilst i can get rid of the individual headaches, it does not help the problem, and i keep getting them. the only way to get rid of them for a while is to get rid of the tension in my back, neck and shoulders. the most effective way for me is to get remedial massages.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
