I'm really hoping the Departed takes home some honors this year. I also enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth a lot, that should win some technical awards at least. As for old movies, there's so many gems that have been overlooked and ignored by the Academy I wouldn't know where to begin. Look at the list of past winners, quite a few have been less than memorable.

Definitely The Departed. I f it doesn't then the awards should be cancelled. Saying that the winner will probably be some boring pile of trash that makes the Americans feel good.
