Go to your laptop manufacturer's web site and download the sound card drivers.

go to control panel, add/remove programs and then on the left hand side click on add/remove hardware, or something related to hardware, and find anything about speakers or audio, and just go in and install all the audio drivers that you find. my toshiba laptop done this recently, and it is no more than 6 months old, but i done this procedure i just told you about and it fixed it. you really ahve to find the actual driver that is not installed, but just reinstalling all the audio drivers should do the trick. email me at dustyalford@yahoo.com for questions or further instructions, or w/e.
