I was on generic birth control in college, but stopped it because I was getting horrible horrible headaches about once a month. I stopped the pill and the headaches went away. I've been on Yasmin for about 6 months now and the headaches are back, now twice a month always during the last week of the b/c pills and then once again in the week of the sugar pills. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there anything that can be done? I hate to go off of the pill, but this is two days out of my month that are are just shot because I feel so awful. Tylenol does nothing! :(

It could be the hormones in the Yasmin...or it could be your natural hormones. Many women suffer headaces at different times of their cycle. You need to go over this completely with your doctor. Keep a diary of the headaches. Look for patterns.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Everyone in my family has migraines and this sounds like you could be getting. One of the major causes of migraines is hormones. A lot of doctors put people on birth control to control their migraines because it stabilizes hormonal influxes. It sounds like you need to switch your birth control you are on. I haven't been on Yasmin & don't know much about it, but I would be a little concerned that its working with your system because twice a month sounds like maybe you are having changes in your hormones which usually is when peope ovulate. I get a migraine everytime I ovulate and have gone on birth control to get rid of them. Could it be co-inciding with this... in other words maybe its not working??
