as a 17 year-old, you would be really lucky to find a paid internship. I would say your best bet would be to find a part-time paid internship, less than 10 hrs a week, and then work a paid pt job. I know wendy williams on WBLS has an internship program for college students...may not be your genre of radio but it seems like a good experience to put on a resume. I would say to keep looking on the internet and network to find who knows who in any music-related business. Take day-trips into the city with resume in hand, and straight up go in these places and get your name around. the music industry requires alot of initiative and willingness to stand out. be assertive. posting resumes online is not gonna get you far.

I would choose the internship and start looking for a part-time job today. Mayabe a waitress or something easy to get with flexible hours that pats the bills. Or maybe you can even be a substitute teacher if time permits. But I would take any chance in life to follow my dreams.
