It's all airbrushing! None of what you see in magazines is how people are in real life.

Having said that, though, there are a few things you can do to give the illusion (ahem, illusion) of perfect skin and hair.

Honestly, in my opinion, home remedies are kind of a bust--there's nothing you can't buy at the drug store for the same price that isn't as good if not much better for your skin.

That said, for skin I would recommend a gentle scrub (Dove Daily Facials are fantastic--stay clear of apricot scrub, it's too harsh) a bit of oil-free moisturizer (Neutrogena makes an awesome one) to prep your skin. Follow that with a lightweight makeup (Nearly Naked by Almay) and concealer only on bits that need it (L'Oreal Quik Stik) and NO POWDER--it will make your skin look too matte and can settle into creases.

As for hair, make sure to use shampoo and conditioner designed for your hair type and RINSE RINSE RINSE. Residue from these products is a major cause of flat, lifeless hair. Also, rinsing with cold water will make your hair cuticle lie flat and thusly make your hair look shinier.

Lastly, to get volume, use mousse (don't be afraid to use a fair amount, but also don't use a ton because it will weigh your hair down. Bend at the waist, flip your head down and blow-dry your hair up-side-down. Style and finish off with a TINY bit of silk shine serum.

Yup I agree, I modeled when I was in college. If they can't fix it with make-up they use a computer to make it look "perfect". I think the key to good skin and hair is diet. Eat right & drink lots of water. Find a skin-care regime and stick to it. I started using dove soap & oil of olay sensitive skin lotion 6 years ago and my skin has never been better. Every time I try something new I break out. I also like cetaphil. Once a week I use baking soda and mix it with my face soap to exfoliate. I also just started using Oil of Olay's Total Effects- I turned 28 and want to keep my skin looking great.

As far as hair I use Garnier hair products, wash every couple of days. Yeah I know sounds gross but when I washed every day my hair was terrible. I also use a deep conditioner 2 times a month- I like Pantene's. For volume I love L'Oreal's products.

Firstly, it has to be pointed out that there's a LOT of editing in those photos. Their hair doesn't look that great at all. A lot of it comes down to luck too, some people have smooth, others fine etc.
Use the right shampoo. Dove, Pantene, any of those are good. Don't kill your hair with hairspray or mousse and try to use a ceramic straightner. They say lemon juice is good for hair too.
I wasn't blessed with great skin, get acne a bit and I just bought AcneFree and its really working great! Bought the Cleanser/Toner/Moisturizer in Costco for $27. Well worth it. I tried everything. But remember those photos are totally airbrushed and edited.

It's called a computer. It can work wonders on your skin and hair:) Seriously, they really do touch up all those photos and make them look absolutely perfect.

their skin is all airbrushes, so dont expect your skin to ever look as perfect as those fake pictures, believe me i know, im a model lol.
and as for hair, neutrogena hair products and weekly conditioner treatments give you lovely soft shining hair.
hope i helped.
