Yes, 6th Street is fun, and is always recommended. But, if you would like to try something really different and folksy-drop by The Broken Spoke for an hour or so. You will get a taste of some original Texas style entertainment. Watch people dance the "Cotton Eyed Joe." You will never forget it. Also, don't forget to eat some Tex-Mex while you are here. Matt's El Rancho is just down the road from "the Spoke."

Wow, funny you should ask this.

My wife and I just got back from Austin for the weekend on business.

Trust us, stay at the Austin Hilton, it's literally half a block from ALL the action of 6th street.

There are two Hilton Hotels in Austin, but you want to stay at the Austin Hilton. It's very modern and new.

There are many bars (pubs to you) that you can go to, but we had the most fun at Coyote Ugly.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We had a blast, in fact, we may move there soon!

March is an excellent time to go to Austin. Sixth street is always a party, as is the warehouse district between Lamar and congress avenue in the downtown area. If you like country music, the broken spoke is neat. You have to eat Barbecue at a good place like the county line restaurant.

6th Street is a lot of fun especially from a rooftop bar and restaurant. Stay in a downtown hotel and take a cab to 6th street. Do not drink and drive in Austin!
