the wire that i plug up to make it work starts to get real real hot like it may catch on fire just wondering if anyone knows what to do about this??? (the wire is not the power wire)

Sounds like the wire should be replaced with a new insulated one. To be safe I would call an electrician or handyman that does small electronic repairs and get it fixed right away. An electric fire can cause huge damages and is often undetected by a fire alarm since the smoke is inside the walls. Be safe and hire someone to fix this ASAP.Good Luck!

It sounds like you have a short in the intercom unit. It is drawing more current than it is rated for. You may want to contact the manufacturer to see if they can fix it or recommend someone who can.
