I think it's a combination of bias and lazyness.

People don't bother to do their own research on anything anymore. They rely on what they are told or NOT told by the bias media and newspapers.

Both. Some are ignorant, some are biased and narrow minded. Some just overstate a point in their questions to get a reaction out of one side or the other. It is a basic lack of respect for everyone's right to their own opinion.

Closed-minded. Too many people can't see beyond their own two feet, and not just in politics. While I tend to vote democratic, I am really more in the middle...very moderate. I haven't been able to swing right just because the attacks and anger. Yes, democrats can do that too, but they just do less of it. I don't care if you agree with me or not.

But, it's just not close-mindedness...we really have a biased system.

Yes, people are that biased. It has its roots in the tribal culture of our long ago ancestors. We are born with the bias and the bias lives and grows primarily because of ignorance.

They really are that biased. They just can't see past their own opinions and consider the other person's point of view.

That's why you get idiots castigating people of differing opinions as a group, seeing them all as stupid, or spineless, or warmongers, or traitors, etc etc.

Sad, isn't it?

It is called not being able to form your own opinion and following the herd as it feeds at the media trough.
