Nop's Trial and the sequel, Nop's Hope. Nop is a border collie. The author is Donald McCaig.

I'd also recommend James Herriott's Dog Stories.

Not sure about "teen" books, but I have been told by the BC savvy that a book called "The Ultimate Border Collie" is an excellent book about the breed with tons of great information.
