If it incredibly is the 1st time you have taken the SAT, and you haven't any longer taken the try quite a few circumstances with an identical score, then i think of that is achievable to enhance your score. have you ever executed any try prep? If no longer, examine with your college's training counselor for a advice for the appropriate SAT try prep middle. inner maximum tutoring is the appropriate thank you to bypass because of the fact the teach can concentration on your particular weaknesses and supply you some very effective crash direction assistance. regardless of the undeniable fact that, the down section to non-public tutoring is the value, which would be very costly. in case you are able to not have the money for any formal try prep, then a minimum of purchase some try prep books from the bookshop or order some on line (like Amazon). additionally, only a tip: The SAT penalizes you greater severally for incorrect solutions, so in case you easily do no longer know the respond and can't slender it down, then bypass away the respond sparkling. you isn't counted off as lots for leaving it sparkling as you will in case you answer the question incorrect. This only applies to the SAT. additionally, have you ever taken the ACT? you should be greater valuable at that try, yet be advantageous to respond to each and all of the questions approximately that try because of the fact no count in case you answer the question incorrect or do no longer answer it, it counts against you an identical.

Has she been tested for reading issues at school? I would think her guidance counselor would be able to give her some good study guides etc. I have always been told that reading high quality murder mysteries such as Agatha Christie are excellent for increasing critical reading. In mysteries such as Agatha's every sentence is important to solving the mystery. Most of the lame stuff produced now a days wouldn't do the trick.

sounds like you've been doing all you can think off.
i agree with "Some Dude"...keep going with the practice books, but also just read some good literature.
the two of your should pick a few books and read/discuss them...like your own mini book club. sounds silly, but it will help.

p.s. in addition to SAT specific books, trying going to a teacher store and getting some reading comprehension work books for high school students. there are some good ones out there!

it is possible with intense critical reading and critical thinking practice.

Tell your friend to concentrate on reading passages rather than sentence completions as there are only about 16 sentence completions on the whole real SAT test.
