why is people like to stare when they see a white woman and black man. I would think they are use to this by now. I live in the south, does that make a difference?

I used to visit Alabama very often when I was in high school and I would always be with this white guy. I would always get looked at by other white people like I wasn't good enough to be with someone white. I don't think that people down south will ever get used to interracial dating. You just have to do what your heart tells you to do. If that means being with someone of the opposite race then do that. I have come to see that both races have beautiful personalities when it comes to a mate.

People stare at any couple that is of different race, especially if the couple are two good looking people. I used to live in the South and I had a black girlfriend who could have been a model, not to mention, I'm a very handsome charismatic guy myself and we both dressed really professional.
Whenever we walked into a place, all heads would be on us it didn't matter if they were white or black and we loved it...we knew our sh!t ddidn't stink. You need to learn to roll with the punches.

The truth is you really don't know what people are thinking when they are looking at you. You may take a good guess, and even be right, but nothing is for sure unless you ask. So when you see people watching or looking at you, stop looking at them, then you won't have to wonder what they are thinking. I learned this years ago. (In the south) I was in a nice restaurant, the only black person around, and this much older Caucasian woman kept turning around and looking at me, she didn't smile at me once. Even when I tried to act like I wasn't watching her she was watching me and talking to the person next to her. I was furious, hurt, wanted to leave, and suddenly self-conscious. As they were getting up to leave, (about 45mins later), so I had time to think of something really nasty to say to her as she walked by, she walked right up to me. I was SURE she was going to make a negative comment, instead she held my arm and said " I am sorry for watching you so much, you are just such a beautiful person". That happened 20 years ago, because of that I try to remember you never really know what someone is thinking. As I mentioned earlier, I am black, what I did not mention is that my husband is white and we have a son. We have been together for 12 years, I can honestly say, taking my own advice, although I know what you said does exist, I do not let it have power. I can't tell you the last time I noticed someone looking at us, I am sure if I did it must not of bothered me.

it shouldn't really make a difference wether you'r in the south, north, east or west. Those people who are starring are closed minded they are still living in the century where things like that was frown upon, some of them are still living in the slavery days. What i would do in a situation like that is get closer to my man maybe give him a little smooch and stare right back at them.

It's bad all over..............even in 2007.....I am personally glad for a white man that fell in love with a black woman in the late 1800s because that is why I have a very beautiful family with shades from the lightest cream to the most beautiful chocolate!!!

I would think so myself. My babysfather is black, ppl always stare at us. It also may have something to do with the fact that he weighs 350 lbs and plays football, and well im all of 135 normally 145 bc im preggo,

Maybe they're staring because the couple in question is freakin' hot.
