Something is draining my battery. The battery and cables are new, however, sometimes the car will not start. After shaking the battery wires one day, the car started. Any suggestions?

If you shook the cables and it started then the batery isn't being "drained". It's got to be something else.

If the battery is indeed draining I would consider checking the next logical thing, which is the alternator. If an alternator is bad it can kill the battery.

You need to tighten up those battery cables, they are to loose. And that is why the car started when you moved the cables as they touched the part they needed to. But if you tighten up those cables the car should start all the time. If something is draining your battery, you have a short. In that two wires someplace in your car are rubbing together and so that pulls the powder away from your battery. You will have to either get a voltmeter and a repair manual for your car; starting with the battery check the whole engine area till you find the short and the manual will explain the right readings you need. Or else take the car to a shop and have them do for for you. But mean while tighten up those cables.

are the terminals new or the cables themselves. if you have a bad ground cable or bad ground connection it will cause an intermittent no start problem
