Yet the latest issue of TIME mag says that only 12% give that as a reason. over 75% either didn't want to be bothered in their lifestyle.

They claim health of the mother becuase they sure as hell can't claim the health of the unborn child!

By the way ... I AM pro-choice. The minute you choose to have unprotected sex, you have made a CHOICE. After that, if a child is conceived, it should be considered murder. And , pro-abortionists, please don't throw out the rape and failed birth control argument. The instance of pregnancies due to rape is incredibly small, and with birth control, you're still taking a chance, and making a CHOICE to roll the dice.

Have a nice day.

Because most proponents believe that a woman should have control over her own body and give that as the reason. A much lesser % only believe in abortion when a mother's health is at risk. But all of the "control" proponents ALSO believe in the "health" issue. I think you are reading too much into the "12%" response. It does NOT mean that only 12% of proponents care about the mother's health

Offering the ultimatum of having their tubes tied means that they'll never be able to have children. Sometimes a woman has an abortion because she is raped or she is simply not in the right frame of mind or body to have a child. Taking away a woman's right to EVER have children is crude and misogynistic. What if the boyfriend forces her? Then maybe he should get permanently snipped too? That would be fair, now wouldn't it?

To answer your question, there are health questions as in what if having a baby can kill the mother that need to be considered. Obviously, the health of the mother would come first in most circumstances.

Abortion "proponents"? I'm sure not. Many are pro-choice but not "proponents". How about a link so we can read it? You were probably trying to be helpful by filtering it, right?

The sad thing is that it is all too often about money. You can't work while you're pregnant, often, and nobody wants to support you if you don't abort(nobody wants more welfare and nobody likes to be on it)-unless you give the baby away. And not many are able to do that. I know two women who did and they still grieve, wondering where their baby is.

Since you are quoting statistics, tell me...just what proportion of abortion proponents "claim" health of the mother?
If you have never been faced with having to make this decision, then perhaps you simply don't understand the heartache involved both at the time of making the decision and for years afterward.

Because even they know that the slaughter of innocent human beings is unjustifiable. So, they try to make abortion seem "compassionate" by claiming it is sometimes necessary for a woman's health. However, according to 480 American physicians, abortion is NEVER necessary to save a woman’s life:

Also, consider these quotes:

“There are no conceivable clinical situations today where abortion is necessary to save the life of a mother. In fact, if her health is threatened and an abortion is performed, the abortion increases risks the mother will incur regarding her health.” Bernard Nathanson, MD, Ex-Abortionist

“In my 36 years of pediatric surgery, I have never known of one instance where the child had to be aborted to save the mother’s life.”
C. Everett Koop, MD, Former U.S. Surgeon General

“Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal disease such as cancer or leukemia, and, if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save the life of the mother.”
Former Planned Parenthood President Alan Guttmacher, 1967

Are you saying that "health of the mother" should not be considered?

Because even the vast majority of "pro-life republicans" allow for instances where the mother's health is in danger. That is not a devisive issue.

If you think that abortion should be banned under ALL circumstances, I will disagree with your but at least that is a position which is logically consistant and I can respect.

Because they know that some percentage of the population will support abortion for that one reason. As I count myself as one who supports that as the only reason for aborting a pregnancy, I still think what qualifies as danger to a mothers health needs to be meticulously defined.

I used to say that rape victims should have the choice but now I don't think that way considering that there is the choice of adoption. But we should consider the health of the baby too.

Don't forget that diagnostic technology is advancing, not to mention curative medicine. Hopefully, one day, abortion will be viewed as barbaric as burning someone at the stake simply because of a sickness.

This is the wrong place to be asking that question. You should ask abortion proponents why they do whatever they do.
About the Time article, I have no idea whether their figures are correct or not. Let's say they're correct - - - - now what ? If they're not correct, what are you going to do about it ?

Because the health of the mother is a factor in some cases.
