The fish are the least expensive part of an aquarium. The most I have spent on a ten gallon is $120. The lowest was around $75 dollars. If you go to a chain store you can buy a kit for less. I like to custom build mine. It's because I like certain hoods and filters and such. This is what I would do. I would by an all glass 10 gallon tank they go for $15-25 bucks. I would get a flourescent light hood from Perfecto for $30. I would go with a Water Wonders in tank filter. They are really natural looking and they do a good job of keeping the water clean. They come equipped for an air pump and a heater if you want. They go for around $30 dollars but I think they are well worth the price. Gravel or sand will cost around $10. I prefer to go with something natural looking. Then you can decorate it with any plants or furniture that you like. I usually spend between $20-$40 for this. Finally, you need to get fish. This totals to around $135 dollars. You can get some comet goldfish for 13 cebts but you will probably want something fancier. I would suggest a couple gold barbs and maybe three zebra danios. They make good tank mates. Have fun!

If you want to keep more than just a few small fish, a ten gallon would be the smallest I'd go. Neons stay pretty small, so they'd be okay in a tank that size. WalMart has a 10 gallon kit which includes lights and filter. I don't know the exact cost, but it would be less than if you bought the items separately at a pet store. Check what's included because neons will need a heater. You'll probably have to buy gravel separately as well - just rinse it off well before you put it in the tank - it's usually dusty and will make your water cloudy otherwise.

It's a good idea to get your tank set up and cycled before you add any fish - this will also help keep your water from getting cloudy and won't allow ammonia to build up from the fish wastes. I'm giving yoou a few links below to websites that will tell you how to cycle the tank (nitrogen cycle) and what you should have for the fish. Good luck with the tank!

A 150 gallon aquarium will cost you anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 depending on what kind of equipment it comes with and if you get in new or used. Jellyfish can cost about $40 or $50, but they are extremely hard to care for. As for the squid I'm not sure, sorry. Good luck!

I got a ten gallon starter kit (with filter, heater, thermometer, hood+light, tank) for $60 at Petco but i've seen a similar package at Walmart for $50. And yes, these fish do need a minimum of 10 gallons.
