Good Grief! Why are you all so worried about Taylor Hicks. He was not the underdog. He was always the most popular on the boards and everywhere else. He won because America wanted him to win and because he has incredible talent and charisma.

I think people voted for the underdog. They put in alot of votes for a guy they thought REALLY needed them. The "good" Idols probably didn't get that many votes because their fans were overconfident. Plus, the dude is a good vocalist. I was rooting for Daughtry the whole time, though.

Taylor will win. And, if A.I. had shown the hometowns of the contestants in the previous, Katherine would were voted off faster. She's basically yet another product out of Hollywood - while Taylor is the actual deal.

Because as it happens EVERY year....the sympathy voting took place earlier in the competition therefore eliminating the far more talented. The judges say harsh harsh things to the less talented, voters feel sorry for them, & vote for them thinking that everyone else will be voting for the ones the judges were nice to ie Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry, Constantine Maroulis etc. How do you think that crooning redheaded manchild hung around for so long?

I haven't the faintest. I didn't vote for him. I wanted Chris Daughtry to win, or Paris whatever-her-last-name-was. But look at Taylor now: singing for Toyota commercials. Hmmm....

Those who voted for him thought he was a good singer or they would like to see the person that no one that would the typical winner win.

My thought is that the only people I know who voted were children. The children voted for Taylor because he was such a character. They don't necessarily recognize talent.

They didn't. American Idol is fixed and he won because of the "gray" hair when they had just taken heat for age discrimination.

Because we've proven time and again that we don't know what the heck we're doing. Hell, they voted for Ruben, too.
