Does it feel lower or could it be because I will ovulate soon? TTC and will ovulate today or tommorrow (hopefully) and it feels like my cervix is not as far back as usual.

The first day of a woman's period is 14 days after ovulation. The number of days between ovulation and the start of the next period is fairly consistent among all women. However, the opposite it not true. The number of days between the start of the period and the next ovulation varies quite a bit between women. It even varies from month to month for the same woman.

Counting days of the cycle is by far the easiest and least technical of all of the methods for tracking ovulation. But, it is really a retrospective indicator. It can tell any woman when her last ovulation was. But, it works well as a predictor for the next ovulation in women whose cycles are very regular. If the woman has a regular cycle, then this method can work for her. For example, if she has a perfect 30-day cycle, she will ovulate on day 16 (30-14=16). Day 1 is the first day of her next period.

Women with cycles that vary a bit in length, but are nevertheless roughly every 30 days or so can also get some utility from this method. She can record the first day of her period for 3 consecutive cycles. From this information, she can get a pretty good idea of the week when she will be ovulating the next month. Having sex at least every other day during that week is a good strategy, if she wants to get pregnant.

hope this helps

Cervical position

After menstruation and directly under the influence of estrogen, the cervix undergoes a series of changes in position and texture.

During most of the menstrual cycle, the cervix remains firm, like the tip of the nose, and is positioned low and closed.
However, as a woman approaches ovulation, the cervix becomes soft and mushy, and rises and opens in response to the high levels of estrogen present at ovulation.[1] This change, accompanied by the production of fertile-quality cervical mucus, supports the survival and movement of sperm.
During pregnancy it is high and closed.

When you're pregnant your cervix is higher. As you get closer to ovulating your cervix moves lower.

Your cervix is not low when you are nearing ovulation--it is High. SHOW--Soft, High, Open, and Wet during ovulation. When pregnant it is soft and low--but this doesn't happen until 6-7 weeks.

When your pregnant your cervix will remain high untill after you miss your period, but if your not pregnant it will lower right before your period and you will be able to feel it, if your pregnant it should rise high where you can barely touch it. It's not good to be checking all the time though, it can cause yeast infections.
