I have an s-video port on my lap top and i'm not sure if there are "input" ones and "output" ones, or if the port could be either. Also, I have a universal cord for my Super Nintendo that has an S-Video output. Can I plug this into my laptop to play Super Nintendo on it? What programs do I need? Do I have to alter my viewing or something?

Most likely, its an output for the video. So plugging your Nintendo into it will do nothing for you. You can still play Nintendo on your computer, however, with an emulator, and output the video from the emulator to your television, thereby turning your laptop into a Nintendo. I occasionally do that with my laptop and its mini-RCA port. I just use a game controller and I can play Sonic the Hedgehog (sorry :) ) on the TV.
