You would be out of work for two weeks, more if you are in an active job position. You should not do any heavy lifting pulling or pushing for about a month. Your final size and scarring takes about a year to come about. It did not hurt one bit for me. It was slightly uncomfortable but no pain.

See at least three Plastic surgeons. Look for those covered under your insurance plan FIRST. MY insurance paid 100%, but most pay anywhere from 60-100%. Make sure you look at PS's before and after pictures and ask a LOT of questions (you'll find a forum and a post that shows what questions to ask in the link below).

Do what your PS tells you to do when he tells you to. If you have any questions or concerns call your PS right away as he is being paid to take care of you. DO NOT overdo it after surgery.

I had it done one year ago tomorrow. It is SO worth it.

I had one when I was 18 years old. I am not going to lie it hurt. It took about a month to recover completely but the pain went away in about two weeks. Looking back on it, it was worth all of the pain. I am soo happy that I did it.
