if you have a deep outfield and your only current 3B option is Julio Lugo, Chad Tracy, Mark Teahen then yes you would improve. If you have Hank Blalock, I say give him 2 months to prove his shoulder is OK. If you have someone in the middle like Rolen or Chipper then sit tight there is not enough in this trade for you.

A lot has to do with how the rest of your roster shapes up but personally i would make the deal in a heartbeat if you were getting Ramirez and giving up Wells. Wells is a great player but so is Ramirez and he plays 3rd base which has horrible fantasy depth beyond the top 5 or 6 players at 3rd. There are a lot more options in the outfield plus Ramirez has Lee and Soriano batting in front and behind him so teams cant pitch around him. Look for a monster season out of him, he is already an elite 3rd sacker fantasy wise and bound to put up even better numbers this year.

ok, enable's initiate with the closers substitute: that is the irrelevant area of the commerce reason both adult men are mind-blowing closers and could finally end up with an similar kinda numbers on the top of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. Boston would get more beneficial keep possibilities than Nathan yet i don't think of that it is that significant of a deal for this reason. about the hitters now: really you're giving a 1B for a 3B and swapping OFs. In baseball the region eligibility is almost the most important aspect, in case you obtain a more beneficial advantageous 1B than Pena (i'm hoping you do) then Pena gained't play a lot for you and he basically had one tremendous 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (continually a scary reality). on the different hand, 3B are harder to discover than 1B and in the adventure that your 3B grow to be Lowell then getting Gordon is definitely a wise flow. Lee is an improve over Fukudome, it is a no-brainer... regardless of if Fukudome has a marvelous initiate, he's not any tournament to Carlos Lee. i'd do the commerce if I were on your shoes. the different guy is possibly a Sox fan and overpaying for Paps ;)

If Wells were on my roster, I would not trade him for Ramirez. The biggest thing that you're giving up is the speed advantage that Wells has. He is good for close to 20SB every season; Ramirez will get you less than 5. Also, while averages are close, I'll take the .300 hitter over the .290 hitter anytime. Mostly psychological but that's a big barrier. There are more .290 hitters than .300 hitters.
Good Luck!

A-Ram is a good baseball player. He is on the Cubs. Third baseman. It looks like you are trading wells. Then it also looks like you have a strong outfield and no third baseman. Look at the positions again if you have a weak Third and a strong OF do the trade

Pending on what your OF looks like. If you have someone on the bench to replace Wells then I'd say pull off the trade if you're in the need for a 3B.

HELL NO!
Vernon is a premier outfielder, and with the protection in the line-up he has, he will continue to put up monster numbers. Aramis hasn't proven to me yet that he can be counted on like Vernon.

There are more power hitting outfielders than there are 3B...still that is a tough trade to make. If you have great hitting outfielders, or at least outfielders with potential, you might want to make that trade.

Depending on your depth at each position, but I would be hesitant to get rid of Wells. Only time will tell.

If you are getting Wells, absolutely. If you are getting Ramirez, absolutely not.
