That's interesting....I think that's a fresh way of looking at it. "Spin" doesn't slap you in the face like propaganda does, but it's just as deceptive.

Nice work.

One could say that. Say you have a top and you spin it to the right or to the left, you are spinning it the way your political beliefs are centered. Notice when someone is being interviewed and they avoid answering a question by a long winded report on the evils of the opposite political party, or point out that even though their favorite party was guilty of it that the other political party did the same thing or even worse. If a news story is being spun, the reporter just totally neglects part of the facts of the story just to spin it the way they want. In other words, they do not tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and sometimes they just out and out lie. I guess that could be construed as propaganda. I do not know if it comes under the heading of "politically correct" or not because it is certainly not correct but the exact opposite.

I think spin is more akin to confusion than it is to propaganda.

Propaganda has a base dogma that is built upon to produce a coherent viewpoint, and generally develops more acceptance from a targeted audience.

Spin is continually changing to suit the current needs of those who wish to formulate another possibility. Spin is a product of manipulation and generally results in confusion of choice.

no they are different. Propaganda is media created and released for political benefit. Spin is a response to media released. There is a difference.

I say the SA tried to overthrow the government. I make sure the media reports the SA's attempt at rebellion, even though it never happened. That is propaganda. You hire actors to play members of the SA, then generate films of them doing vile deeds, then pass these films as news coverage rather than generated media.

Federal dollars spent on education are increased this year over last year. The democrats say that George Bush cut federal dollar spending. This is spin because he did increase funding, but at a rate lower than the recommended rate of increase. That is spin. There is a difference.

One creates news, one responds to news.

In hollywood, they are saying "unconventional seems" while they choose somebody unusual-searching for an element, even though that's not precisely the comparable element as grotesque. in case you would be calling somebody grotesque, there is not any well mannered thank you to do it, so bypass forward and use the be conscious grotesque. you are able to no longer get away being impolite no count number if it is your actual purpose.
