How many soldiers' deaths are a result from the irresponsible comments made by these two that continues to propagate the war?

They should be taken to prison in chains. Let's see how 'funny' they will be then.

Trust me, I'd like to throttle Jon Stewart. He can be such a jerk. And if my reaction is that strong against him, imagine what I'd do to Al Franken!

But Stephen Colbert? This guy is so wry, so clever, so inventive and intelligent, I can't fault his humor (however, please note I've been out of the country for the last five months). Stephen Colbert is what Jon Stewart WISHES he could be.

Are you certain you're giving Colbert a fair shot? Do you realize a lot of what he says is rather sophisticated irony?

Please read the graduation address he gave at Knox College last year. I quote it frequently when I'm trying to educate dumb think-they-know-it-all young Liberals who really are just lazy cynics.

Here is a snippet to entice you to read it all:

"Now, will saying "yes" get youin trouble at times? Will saying "yes" lead you to do some foolish things? Yes it will. But don't be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics.

Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us.

Cynics always say no. But saying "yes" begins things. Saying "yes" is how things grow. Saying "yes" leads to knowledge. "Yes" is for young people. So, for as long as you have the strength to, say "yes"."

I've never heard the words traitor and patriot bandied around so recklessly as they are today! Saying things against the president or the administration does NOT constitute being a traitor. If people can no longer speak their minds we don't have much of a democracy do we? You are obviously a republican but when republicans were not in power did anyone try to call YOU a traitor? Did anyone try to say you were unpatriotic? No and they never should or we lose everything America is supposed to be about. There is room for dissent. Dissent is essential to a healthy democracy.

Oh and telling the truth is also not being a traitor. Sorry but both Stewart and Colbert are hysterically funny BECAUSE they point out the truth.

What happened to Republicans anyway?

I assume that you are among the people who have trouble separating jokes from serious comments. I also assume you have the same problem with this:

After all, political humor isn't allowed, according to you. Right?

P.S. When you prove to me that ONE person died because of what Colbert or Stewart had to say, then I might entertain your question as valid. Until then, you are simply a reactionary harpy.

The guilty and irresponsible party who is responsible for the deaths of the soldiers is George Bush.

"Are Jon Stewart and Stephen Corbert among the worst traitors ever?"

Heh-heh... they're not traitors. George Bush and D. Cheney are traitors. They've sold out America to the highest bidders.

No. Care to address WHAT irresponsible comments they have made? And how those comments are responsible for the Iraq war and it's failures? Or did you just want to watch the show for yourself and make up your own mind? BEWARE! They make fun of everyone, so you might laugh!

How, specifically, has whimsical news commentary resulted in the death of a single person?

People like YOU wold have this be a closed, controlled, dissent-free society. One not worht saving or living in.

Itis Bush and Cheney who should be locked up. How many deaths are they responsible for? Why are you so completely cavalier about THAT?

I don't know of any soldiers sent to their deaths by John Stewart or Stephen Colbert. (I think it's over 4000 now for Bush.) Nice to see that you support freedom of speech. That is one of those rights you claim to be supporting, yes?

Free speech is a cornerstone of the 1st amendment to the Constitution.

I think the answer to your question is "0". No soldiers have been killed because of two citizens on a comedy show.
