are you sure is it saliva!!!
if it is then it cud be any thng..
drug side effect, psychogenic, physiolgical variation or at extreme may be growth in the salivary galnds??
best is to get a check up from ur doctor!!

I'm with the first person - are you sure it's saliva? Normally if you're coughing up stuff, it's phlegm and it's usually due to allergies or a cold (to start with). If it's green, that's an infection; if it's yellow, then that's normal color. Green indicates you may need antibiotics which would be a visit to the doctor.

Smoking can cause you to cough up saliva (really makes it an attractive habit!). So if you're a smoker, quit, and your problem should go away, if you don't smoke, see a doctor.
