I am going to go to a wedding in June and was wondering what kind of dancing I should learn. It is going to be a traditonal wedding and will be held in Chicago.

I really wanted to take some dancing lessons with my girlfriend beforehand so we can look good on the floor.

What dancing lessons should we take and would you reccommend any dance studios near the south loop or in the south subarbs of Orland Park?

Any information would be helpful, thanks!

You should look into learning Foxtrot and Swing. With these two, you are all set for like 60% of the evening. Other than that - any couple dances will be a plus: Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Salsa, ets.

Look for dance studios on http://www.ballroomdancers.com/Directory/Studios/Default.asp and http://accessdance.com/dance_lessons/ they have studios listed by ZIP code. Look for beginnner group lessons. If you can afford it - you and your GF might want to take a private lesson or two just to get some more individual attention and to speed you up along the way. Also, if there is a college nearby - check if they teach ballroom classes in the evenings - those tend to be affordeable and pretty good.

Definitly try classic ballroom, latin/salsa, try looking at your local park district they some times over wedding dance classes and are inexpensive.
