What do you think about Mexicans?

I am Mexican, and people say we're low class, but not all of us really are. Why do people say these things about us, and what do you think?

That girl is right , the food , the culture , and the people are real good people.
Most people in the world are poor and or hard working.
If some idiots think you are low class just because you have nothing to eat and hungry , they are ignorent cowards with no respect for human kind , love , friendship , and human beings by nature in all the true meaning of what a human being is all together.
meaning those are the people who are low like that and real mean who are low class.
Because class is an eternal thing.
Like mama's cooking , breast feeding , playing with children , Christmas or religious holidays , people getting together , sharing , caring , loving , taking pictures if you have the money for a camera , the memories in your heart , being good to your neighbors , inviting them over for a coffee or lunch , taking care of elderly people , taking care of a baby , having love for people , family , and joy, being Godly , havig a warm heart , donating to the poor , if your a human being and you have done at least 1 of these things , you had class , if you do any of those things or even all more than once or all the time , you have the most class in the world.
As far as I'm concerned , Mexicans , Canadians , Americans , Arabs , Greeks , Germens , Chinese , Japanese , Cubans , British , French , Italians , Natives , Polish , Swedish , Irish , and all the countries in the world have most of their population of people who have all the class in the world.
Anyone who puts people with class down are called jelous people with no class. If they had class , they would say something nice and neighborly about you unless you did something to hurt them. Don't forget class is having compassion and forgiving.
But if the color of your skin is the only thing that hurts them , they are insensative , and selfish jerks who are not friendly and color blind to everyone as the way it should be.
It's not like they have to cuddle up next to you in bed , it won't hurt if they just say hello and be polite once in a while , and even introduce your family to theirs.
One more thing , we all have some people in our own cultures who have no class. CRIMINALS and RACIST MURDERERS HAVE NO CLASS.

Yes a lot of people say this, because they see most Mexicans on low income and in bad areas because some just came from Mexico and are starting out. So that is what people mostly see.

I think that as long as your not illegal then its fine your hear, and there are rich Mexicans, and i have a few friends that are Mexican, there just people that come from a different place then America

Great people! With much more respect for their families and stronger family bonds than most Americans. I employ several Hispanic guys and they selflessly send most of their pay back home to their families. Yes they're here legally. They look after each other and would take care of a grandmother rather than sticking her in a rest home.

I think alot might have to do with stereotypes, the jobs that most willingly take that most white/black americans are too proud or too lazy to do. Lots of folks think, "we'll they must be a substandard human to mow someone's grass or clean someone's toilet". No, just hardworking good people trying to make a buck and support themselves - taking in opportunities. Kinda like the american dream used to be. I'll gladly hire someone of Mexican descent over a lazy white or black american who feels entitled to sit on their butts and collect welfare, or that a job is "below" them, or that they want their "hurricane check" and are too lazy to clean up their own city (but the mexicans gladly come in and do the job).

Hi,
Different cultures look at things differently - so you are dealing with predjudice. What is right in your country might be wrong in another.

For example It an English culture it is not considered neighbourly to leave old junky cars, bags of storage items, brooms, vaccums, etc outside for all to see, but in other countries it is perfectly normal.

Culture is a balancing act when you move. We have to conform to the unusual new manners out of consideration, but at the same time we have to keep the things that make us who we are - since that is beautiful and special.

I faced similar problems when I lived in Spain. They were convinced that all North Americans drown their food in ketchup, have no class, and smoke cigarettes between courses during a meal. I didn't do those things and I didn't like their assessments.

As a Canadian I have seen Eastern European women pull down their children's pants and allow them to poo and pee in our pretty streets. I must admit - I deeply resent that. People of other countries find the North American bad habit of eating meat with our hands to be rude - which means that we should consider their feelings and try to have a little more class.

I think that we all need to be a little more tolerant and a little more flexible - both when we have newcomers, and when we are newcomers.

That is jest typical racism I see Mexicans as very hard workers and survivors and I think Mexican woman are the most beautiful I have this fantasy of rescuing one from a hard live and treating her like a princess yea that would be nice and the Mexican food it is soooo yummy

My best friends Mom is Mexican and her husband is a blond hair blue haired All American Boy. In the Summer her whole family is coming and they are all Mexican...they are flying in from Cali for a Family Reunion.... I have known the family my life and there is no way I am missing that party....They are sooooooo good at cooking. I love them all. Who cares if people say your low class...you know your not so don't let it get to you. Chin up and don't listen to what people say just prove them wrong and be happy!!!

I live in Denver and there are many Mexican Americans who live here,and my best friends out here are Mexican American.
I think they are genuinely good hearted people who will give the shirt off their backs for you,and they will go out of their way for you and are compassionate people.
There are many Mexican Americans who don't like white people,I am white but for the most part ,I think they hate white people because of how many white people treat them.
I think most people need to lose their "Archie Bunker" mentality and things will go along more smoothly.
There are many Mexican Americans who do not like the "illegals" just as much as other races hate the "illegals".
Many people are not aware of that,but I have heard many Mexican Americans who have been here in this country for years complain about them,just as white people do.
The issue is not really being prejudice against Mexicans,it is being prejudice against "illegals".
I love Mexican food and if like Mexican food ,come to Denver,there are many good Mexican supermarkets here,and Restaurants ..with "real" Mexican food.
Green Chili is one of the specialities here in Denver.
Good restaurant in Denver is Chubby's ,or Brewery Bar..I,II,or III.
You will not be disapointed with the Mexican food here and I am glad that the Mexican culture is thriving well here in Denver.

There is nothing wrong with some Mexican people; it's the illeagle alians that give you guys a bad name. I have nothing against you personally, but if the Mexicans all want to come to America so bad we should send in the army and take over. Then they'd all be American!

People will say those kind of things because of ignorance. I don't think they are...sure some are, but it's that way in the US or in any country. I rely on Mexicans in my area for work and they just happen to be the lower class who don't have enough money for good medical care, so they are given DSHS.

i think some of the girls are fantasitc looking. as for low class no not really . i am in canada and we dont get many mexicans here but the few i have met seemed fine. i would love to live in mexico with the nude beaches and the pot growing all over the place sounds wonderfull
