too many malicious people out there dude...
incidentally can I please ask EVERYONE to complain about Violations when they are not warranted.?
A lot of people have been deleted recently after working very hard to get up to a level where they can ask and answer unlimited.
If you get violated for something that is NOT even close to being offensive, please report it with the email header "harassment by another user" and state that you do not deserve this violation. Say that it is harassment and you want the matter investigated and the REPORTERS account suspended.
I will be reporting EVERY one from now on
Lets stop the mindless yobs destroying our work
Just one point though. If you deserve the Violation - take it on the chin !

Well it does say in the Community Guidelines that you are violating the rules if you say or ask:
How are you?
Anyone want to chat?
What's your name?
How old are you?
Do you like my avatar?
What time is it?
Who here likes steak?
How many points do you have?
Who likes Britney Spears?
Wow.. You didn't actually say any of those things. It's about time that Yahoo! Answers does something about their violation system. I got reported four times in one night for personal communication, so using the word 'you' is personal communication? Have you seen the questions in the best of answers? They have the word 'you' in there. Yahoo! Answers should seriously do this, every time i get reported i send them an email.
Have a nice day!

I do, the rules are not on a sliding scale and sometimes the violation system doesn't work. I've gotten a notice for answering a question. No slang or pointing the finger and I got one. Someone needs to monitor them.

YES!they need to get the people of here that use the abuse reports as a weapon to make up for thier lack of intelligence, humour and tolerance.the same with the thumbs downs they are very childish and immature people that use these.if you like some ones answer thumbs up if you don't ignore it.abuse reports are needed no doubt but they have an intended purpose and that doesnt include using them as a weapon because some ones opinion doesn't match yours or you don't like thier opinion.

all it takes is one person to report you. can you imagine what price we'd pay for Y!A if a HUMAN WORKFORCE had to individually review every question or answer to see if it actually violates the community guidelines? i'd suspect they get 100s of 1000s abuse reports daily. it's just not practical to enforce the TOS with manpower.
