"K" reg Volvo 960 Estate 3L 24v Automatic, has been left sitting for 9 month and will not start, have charged the battery up and there is nothing happening when you turn the key in the ignition. Have also tried to jump start this and nothing happens, does anyone have any idea what is wrong??

The engine could dry seize in that time! i would suggest taking out the spark plugs and spraying a bit of WD40 down into the pistons!
Leave it for a while and try turning the crankshaft with a spanner or socket on the bottom pulley bolt!
If you cannot turn the pulley the engines in trouble!

get a discharge test peformed on the batterys lucas can do this. jump start can only boost one battery. if the engine is siezed you will hear a clunk from the starter when you turn the key. when an engine stands without use oil drains from the piston rings resulting in no compression (and not starting) two or three squirts from an oil can (engine oil) down s/plug holes resolves this.

If it started on a leap initiate it,s in all probability the battery.swap each and all of the lighting fixtures on and blow the horn.If the horn sounds quiet,muffled or won,t blow then it,s the battery yet in the past you purchase a clean one get somebody to examine the charging value of the alternator.
