I'm a Badgers fan, but I'm not used to them being ranked so high. They've never been ranked number 1 before, ever. Do you think they deserve it or some other team. The Badgers also have beaten no. 2 ranked Ohio State this year, who they will play again....

Wisconsin should be #1. why?
Ohio State hasn't beaten a currently ranked team this year. can't handle the big games. OSU also got whooped by Florida at florida.
Florida lost to Florida state( Wisconsin beat them handily at home) and Vanderbilt( not even a sports school ) both on the road. If they're as good as every says they are they shouldn't lose to bad teams on the road. They just lost so they shouldn't hold on to the #1 spot.
UCLA lost to Stanford. had no shot of jumping over 3 teams to become number 1.
Wisconsin beat Marquette on the road and they did what they were supposed to do at home which is beat Pitt and Ohio State. They had a bad loss to Missouri St. but that was too early in the season to matter now and they lost to an Indiana team which hadn't lost at home this year.

I think it's a down year for the Big 10 so not necessarily. However, last year, time and again, the so-called analysts would vote Duke (one of my teams) #1 and then say they are not the best team in the country. So, I would take my #1 with a grain of salt. In my opinion, the best team in the country--win or lose--should be the #1 ranked team. Who's #1? I don't know. There's lots of good basketball being played right now. I think anyone in the top 10 has a legitimate shot of winning the NCAA tournament.

i'd wager that only Wisconsin Badger followers would think of that. They chop up with Ohio State on the season and the reality that they only dropped 2 in a row does not provide them the credit they could be #a million. That and the harm to the 'cryin' white boy variations the dynamic of their group the place their 4 look after set makes them much less of a dominant probability than they have been previous to his harm on Sunday.

although they are very good, their strength of schedule is still
4-5 points weaker than north carolina and ucla, though about the
same as florida. n.c. is 7-2 against top 25 teams while ucla
6-0. wisconsin is 2-1. beating ohio state this week will certainly
go a long way for them but right now their schedule has worked
against them.

You have to remember, Ohio State was beat at Wisconson so this week, when they play again, we will see. But they lost at Indiana, and Ohio State recently went to Michigan State and beat them. The number one team has to win on the road as well as protect their home court. So wait a couple of days, your question will answer itself.

i think florida should still be number one, they are clearly better than wisconsin right now, and winning on the road is tough in any conference, particularly against a good SEC team...my top 5 would be:
1. florida
2. wisconsin
3. ohio state
4. texas a&m
5. unc

i think this year's teams are more condensed. you can make a case for OSU, florida, wisconsin, ucla and UNC to be #1. there really is no clear frontrunner among the 4 of them, in my opinon.
