What's Christian about the Christian Coalition? Why not call them what they are? An ultra right wing Coalition. Their narrow bigoted agenda on abortion and same sex marriage is far removed from "do unto others........" Please tell me they are required to pay taxes. By the way, I'm a Christian with moderate views on most social issues.

Intolerance is not a Christian virtue. Those who would promote violence towards anyone would make Jesus puke at using his name on their Standard. "Love thy neighbor as thyself" hardly fits Jesus Camp and the words of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell.

I'm a Christian, a devout Christian, and I see nothing at all Christian about the "Christian Coalition", or the Religious right in the U.S.

For the most part they're just a bunch of greedy, intolerant, racist, war-mongering folks who call themselves "Christians" for absolutely no justifiable reason.

I AM opposed to gay marriage and I am opposed to abortion-on-demand. But I am not opposed to the rights of others to support abortion or gay marriage, and I'm willing to live with the majority view, even if I disagree with it. That's democracy, and I'm not interested in living in a fascist state.

My children go to a religious school. I want my country to be open and hospitable to religious beliefs. But I do not want my country to become a barely disguised theocracy.

There is room for all, here. Everyone has a right to believe what makes sense to them, whether that's the Muslim faith, Wicca, atheism, agnosticism, humanism, rationalism... or any other "ism". I'm free to disagree with those worldviews, and I'm free to express that. But I'm not free to oppress them or to try to prevent them from living by their own lights.

If you're a Christian, you would not take scripture out of context like you did with your statement, "do unto others...."

If you want moderate views, that's great. How about Biblical views?

You can not be a Bible believing Christian and be pro-abortion and pro gay? The Bible say Homosexuality is an abomination to God. What is a sin is always a sin. Jesus Christ said "Go and sin no more." In other words go and not be gay anymore? Is that tolerant? pro-abortion?

I don't agree with their views, but they *do* have the right to have 'em. They also have the right to speak 'em. Not thrilled about it, but I'd rather support the CC's freedom of speech than NAMBLA's. Ewwww.

You can't be a Christian period, if you believe in abortion and homosexuality. I don't know what you would call yourself, a non-believer? In simpler terms that you might understand, you can't just pick Bible verses to suit your thinking and ignore the rest.

Christians don't believe in murder or sexual perversion. We go by what the bible says, not our own opinions.
