I turned 26 last month, have played since I was 4, played semi-pro in Jamaica (born and raised), been top goal scorer on every team I play with, trained with Brazilian group and they suggested I take it serious, am a US Citizen and now reside in the US but I regret not attempting to play professionally. Should I come to Europe and try to get into a league at this age or give up and become a coach? I don't care if it was the 4th Division, I just want to atleast say I tried and not have regrets. Suggestions on where to tryout would be appreciated.

Just to clarify, the Brazilians came here to the US to run a training, I never played there.

Also, I don't care about becoming a superstar player, I just want to score goals for a living.

26 is still in the prime, but you are untested in Europe and would need to show something special to be taken on as a professional.

If you have any contacts in Jamaica that can help you, I would suggest you use them as i am sure an introduction would help enormously.

The market for pro players is getting smaller, although in England even the top league of semi-pro clubs are going full time and might be interested in taking a look. Take a look at the football conference clubs in England, send them an e-mail and see what they say? They can only say no!

Do i think you will ever become a top player. At 26 it is unlikely, but you will never know unless you try and you might forge yourself a decent career at a lower level.

if you don't have success with that, take a coaching course and become a coach, at least you can impart your knowledge and skills to those who are willing to learn.

I wish you the best of luck.

Don't give up. You will regret it verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry much later in life. I have a friend who's dad is probably better than most of the players in the English League 1. And he never tried out for a team and now he says I wish i joined a team when I was young every time I see him. 26 isn't that old. You should go try out. Maybe try out for a club that is holding an open try out, I know some of the MLS teams do it every year.

Hire an agent that can shop you around Europe.
You can also try the MLS??? Maybe spend a year in that league, if your as good as you say then you will get noticed and someone from Europe may pick you up.

If you think you will have regrets then go for it. Caching wont fill the passion like playing on the field will. Regrets never go away. I dont think 26 is too old at all. Go for it man, and score a goal for me.

i do not think you should give up your dream. if you keep running toward your dream.you will succeed. have faith. tell yourself everyday you can do it.then you might succeed.
just keep up with your moves that way you will not be rusty on the night you have to fight against the colts and other teams because i believe you can do it.so keep running for your dream.
