Hell is being forced to live your entire life over and over a thousand times again but never being able to change a thing. This is also heaven.

Whether it's one or the other for any particular person depends a great deal on how they've lived. Ask yourself - would living your own life be punishment or reward?

Then, having asked that, live according to what you'd like it to be!

In the afterlife, there is no hell. The hell is right here and now and you can ask anyone how their life is going and you will get a good version of hell. We live in a world full of drugs both illegal and legal. We have Bible thumpers spouting the further hell we are going to have when we die. People are miserable. Now. In this life. People are so miserable in this life, they are willing to die because the hell afterlife has got to be better than the now. When I see the perection of nature in this world and how all beings, plants, animals, minerals etc. intereact, I cannot believe that the force that made this grand plan is capable of creating a hell. We are given this moment to make or break ourselves;;;heaven or hell, right now as we breathe.

Any eternal life sounds like it would eventually become a hell. As far as I can see (and I may very well be wrong) purpose and meaning in our lives rely on the fact that there is an end, a reason to get things done. But when faced with eternity I can find no reason, purpose or meaning. (though that might be due to my own shortsightedness)

my thoughts of a future life known as hell would be in a void or bottomless dark pit with only grievous sounds and knowing at this time there was an alternative choice previously.... and having to live with my choice eternally. To believe there is a hell would one not have to believe also in heaven?

I can envision a place where you can't rest, or die, or escape from where there is nothing but darkness or a featureless void; you, by yourself, totally alone and abandoned undying for all eternity.
