I like the wind farms- I like the way they look. They are part of the mix, but not the be all and end all. When a wind turbine goes pear shaped it goes band, has a bit of fireworks and that's about it. Unlike when a nuclear power station - these cause serious issues I am in favour of renewable and the use of hydro (pump storage) or Hydrogen (splitting water into the 2 parts and then burning hydrogen to produce energy when needed)

There is a wind farm on Orkney. Incidentally, Wind farms often get built on remote sites. This means they often have their own a particualr ecology which is damaged by the buiding work. In the worst cases they are built in peat bogs thereby releasing an awful lot of carbon dioxide. My suspicion is that they are better out at sea.

There are some in west yorkshire on the huddersfield road. People think of them as an eyesore, I think they look nice and have a calming effect, watching them go round. they won't be abusing them when they need them for power when the electricity energy fails.

I believe there are some in scotland, on the highlands and the uninhabitated islands. There may be some at the moment, but there are plans to build some there.
