My wife drove our van through the garage and she knocked off the center tailight on our 2000 Odyssey van. I unhooked the wires and it looks like a new one would clip on a couple of brackets to reinstall it. Is it that easy if I buy a new one or must I take it to the shop?

It is really easy to install you might have to pull the liner off the door but it actually has screws that go from the inside if I am thinking of the right one.
In any regard if you buy the part and you can't do it. take the part to a local shop this one doesn't have to be done by a dealer

Do it yourself. The shop is around $60 an hour regardless of what they do.

Haynes Manual
What you do is get the Haynes Repair Manual for your Year and model of vehicle at Auto Zone, or another automotive repair shop. The manual will show you what and how to do the repairs.

All check below and other places for prices on the part, if you have not bought it by now. The manual is good to have around so if you have problems you will not have to ask here. lol

That's a good one! I'll blame my wife the next time I do something like that, too!

Call the Honda dealer parts department and ask them how to do it. Most places are very helpful.

head to your local ecology center and find an odyssey of your model year range and take the assembly off of it. it is not hard to replace, and at the ecology center it would be very inexpensive.
