Yes banks are closed, and yes since quite a few people have the day off, the stores are trying to capitalize on this......

President's Day is a Federal Holiday, and banks will be closed...along with the post office and most schools. President's Day has been big for car and furniture sales.

Who goes to a bank nowadays anyway with debit and credit cards readily available.Get real.Use direct deposit,then you won't have to worry about it.
If you have to pay a bill ,pay it online,or buy a 39 cent stamp.
Use an ATM machine if you are hard up for cash,or use "Cash Back " at the grocery store with your debit card.
or write a check.
