I know I don't, because I know that of, by and for the people will be replaced with of, by and for the corporation! That is exactly what is happening though! Under the North American Union the US Constitution will gradually be replaced by the Constitution of the North American Union and we, or our ancestors, will become nothing more than pieces of the corporate machinery.
This is not a partisan issue. This is not a lib/con issue. This is not a race issue. This is an issue of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"! Both political parties are selling us out!

Stupid Marxist, If that's all you came away from my statement with, you name is appropriate. The USSR was nothing more than a giant corporation. Cold and inhumane in it's pursuit of efficiency.

Cappi, You gave an awfully long response for someone who, apparently, did not read my statements. I DO NOT believe that the Constitution should be rewritten, but I know that it is being replaced by whatever
the politicians decide is needed to form the NAU.

The corporations are using their money to buy the U.S. government. The Unions did too but the politicians have done their best to silence the unions which acted as a balance to the corporate interests. I would not trust today's politicians to rewrite the constitution because they are owned by the corporations. The way we finance elections promotes this insidious system; politicians owe their jobs to the corporate contributors. Business is good when it takes in the needs of the workers but that is a nearly forgotten concept.

Corporations are not the problem in this country. You act like corporation are our government.Every corporation was stared by a person with a dream, not to control the country ,but to be successful. To answer your question no,I would not trust Politicians today to rewrite the Constitution. My view is that it would turn out way to liberal and give away all of Americas wealth and power.Just look at what FDR did.

No!! Politicians are the puppets of the lobbyists who are the paid employees of the capitalists whose only interest is increasing profits. Politicians no longer represent the interest of America and Americans, and continuously fail to respond to Americans.

We are consumed in a climate of unrestrained greed in a perverse system of capitalism which long ago has deserted America for the profit opportunities of globalism. American Capitalism must be modified to suit the needs of her people, or we will continue to decline. The promise of the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness will disintegrate as the availability of economic opportunity is exported to foreign countries in the pursuit of profits.

The Constitution has been going through amendments for a long time, but to answer your question: No, I do not trust any of todays politicians with rewriting the Constitution. to be fair, though, the original Constitution allowed slavery and suppression of women's suffrage, so some amendments were in order.

I agree both political parties sell out their constituency and wouldn't trust either side to re-write the Constitution. But I'll have to pass on the whole corporate paranoia thing you got going there.

The founding fathers of our country, the authors of our constitution spent "years" figuring out how to write it. And then spent more years debating it with the states. In those days, a person would stand up and speak his mind and support his position with passion and reason. Others would do the same in opposition. Those that did not participate in the debate used THEIR reason and logic to evaluate the value of each argument. Those that voted to approve and later ratify the document, answered directly to those in their districts as to how they voted and they had to use their ability to reason in order to be accepted.

IF, and it is a big IF, the process were attempted in the manner described above, I would have confidence that reason and logic would prevail and basically our constitution would actually return more to it original form than it is today.

There is today a factor in the process that didn't exist when the document was originally written and debated. It is the media. Unfortunately, the media (tabloid and visual) are actually used as tools to formulate opinions in others through the very careful editing of content to acheive the intended "opinion". For example, I blame the media for the twisted and biased reporting on the war in Iraq. There are many problems in that war, but there are tremendous advances also, and the media has not been honest with the American people about it. As a result, support for the war has declined.

Were we to actually consider "rewriting" the constitution, I don't believe that we as a population in general would bother to utilize our reason and logic to evaluate the arguments for and against. I believe most of us would allow our minds to be circumvented and simply adopt the opinions that are tediously paraded in front of us on Front Pages and the Evening News. Because of that, I would not trust that our constitution could be rewritten.

Perhaps the most direct concern is that you consider that the constitution NEEDS to be rewritten in the first place. I would be curious to see a draft copy of a rewritten constitution authored by yourself.

You see, it isn't that we as Americans find room in our governement for change. Nor is it in the fact that there are diverse viewpoints as to what is in the most need of change. I fear the citizen that doesn't see the connection between our constitution "as it was written originally" and your freedom to express doubt about it. I fear that a socialist, who fears freedom and liberty, will use the media to mold the minds of a hypnotized populace into thinking that our most precious document isn't valid any longer, not up to date or pertenant and that we need to rewrite it to fit the needs of a modern world.

I fear this because I see it happening for the last 75 years at least. I see it happening today where politicians feels safe in stating out loud that "the needs of the individual in America cannot take precedence over the needs of the many".

Many have said that in the past. People like Stalin, Kruschev, Mussilinni (sp?), Hitler, Marx, Lenin. Quite a list. Very well known names in history.

But someone said this in America, about America and they said in out loud without fear. Hillary Clinton said that.

I fear an America where a socialist politician can say such things without fear of being ruined politically because America would die for her right to say them but would NEVER allow her to hold a position of power in our government.

God save America from our own sins. There is a price to pay for allowing ourselves to sleep for so long...a powerful price.

you are correct, and I personally think all Americans should take to the streets and demonstrate against this so called treaty and demand the U,S, keep our borders closed to all immigration, and N,A,F,T,A, D dis solved and go back to how America was in earlier years and mind our own business and have the other country's to do the same, take care of our people and let the others do what ever they want ,

The Constitution has lasted us for 200 years and I think it can last us another 200 years. Besides they can already change it by amendments.
