Why do footballers behave like 5 year olds? Shouldn't football be brought in line with rugby? If you answer back, the ball gets moved forward, if you are shown a yellow card then you get sent off for 10 minutes and obviously a 2nd yellow is a red.

On the moving the ball forward for arguing with the ref I recall they did introduce this in the Premier league. I guess they must have abandoned it(perhaps caused problems with UEFA)

I do agree with you, and sin binning would change the nature of a game, but I would make it 15mins in football as the match is longer.

It used to be only the team captain would approach the ref. Better still in my view should be FA imposed fines using video evidence. Any player argues with the ref(the Captain can make an enquiry) should be fined 25% of a weeks wages for every incident up to a maximum of 2weeks wages per match.
This would have much more effect than cards as players could be in debt to the FA to the tune of thousands after just 1 game.

No no no. Football doesn't need additional rules like moving the ball forward or coming off the field for 10 minutes (this is not ice hockey with a penalty box).

The referee and the cards are there to force certain behaviour, the refs just need to be vigilant when dealing with players. If you answer back, Yellow Card, if you get a second yellow, showers for you.

If the FA were to step in and implement discplinary fines even more, that would be an even better step, we don't need additional rules on the field - leave that to the USA and their tampering with the sport.

nothing needs to be done and leave the ball alone! free kicks, cards and sendings off should remain as they are, however, I don´t mnd if they misbehave but someone should benefit.. Proffesional footballers (or those that earn in excess of a grand a week) should be made to choose a childrens charity by the FA a yellow card should see a days wages docked and sent to their nominated Charity, and a red card should see a weeks wages docked and sent to thier nominated charity, the financials of it won´t affect the players much and won´t stop the childish behaviour, as it´s part of the game, as much as we might hate it, without it football wouldn´t be football... if everybody played fair and nobody comitted fouls I don´t think we would see as much great football as is available, and the passion factor would be Zero, fouls are often about passion to win, passion for the game, a foul can turn a game, and that adds excitement. all the answering back doesn´t bother me as long as we get a full 90 minutes of football I don´t care.

id like to say its the money but if u go to any park to watch football theres allways someone having a go at the referee no matter how rich or poor u need a strong manager to make em have respect straight red for dissent needs to be applied with out leniency for as long as it takes to clean it up the game
does anybody remember brian clough his players new the law if the player talked back to the referee he would be brought off if he did it again he would be sold, roy keane was a perfect role model on the pitch at forest went to moaning man united over nite he became a mardy player a great player but a mardy one
managers need to be fined when a player behaving like screaming girls, a proper fine not a 500 quid one but a proper 50 grand pocket buster im sure the managers wouldnt find is so easy to ignore the players diving shouting at refs and linesman as they seem to do

Unfortunately footballers now have such a huge ego that they believe they are above discipline, believing that they should be allowed to act whichever way they like. It's this attitude that has turned a lot of fans against the game.

I'd go one further - automatic red card for manhandling the ref!
