It doesn't matter if we like it...the only person who has to like it is you.

I don't have any idea how to pronounce. Actually, I do, but if I pronounce it how it's spelled, it doesn't sound very pretty, so hopefully I'm pronouncing wrong. My first instinct is to say that I don't like the name, but then I don't know the meaning behind it or what culture you are part of. If you named her that just to try to be different or strange, then I will have to say I don't like it.

This could be an actual name but somehow I think you are pulling our legs. I will say unusual and of course it's hard to say(you do that right?0 Will people like it (of course not) You knew that two right?

If it is an Indian name or other cultural than tell us as I'm sure in ones own language it is lovely.

I don't know about whether it is an Indian name or not, but to most people it will sound similar to smegma, which is a disease of the male foreskin. What will she be called for short--"Smig", or "Smidge"? The main problem is the dipthong "sn", which is the beginning of a lot of unpleasant English words like sneaky, snide or sneer.
Maybe I'd suggest Singha, or Sinda, or Sinhalla.

How do you pronounce it, and it's obviously not that easy to pronounce if everyone is wondering how to pronounce it.

Snigdha is actually an indian name which means "smooth, tender" so, as long as YOU are able to pronounce it right. Who cares whether or NOt we like it, as long as you thought about the name and its meaning. Lets hope Snigdha likes her name as well. Congrats and good luck.

is that pronounced Snig-da? Well, yuck. What would her classmates call her--Sniggles? Snigger? not nice Of course, I grew up in America, where that name is nonsense syllables.

If you're living in a culture where this name is familiar, it's probably very nice.

That name must have a special meaning for you. It has no meaning for me therefore I do not like it.

If you pronouce it how it's spelled, your poor daughter is going to get teased in school. I'm sure when she becomes an adult she'll have it legally changed.
